CITY OF PALM SPRINGS – Strategic Planning & Project Liaison
In March 2008, Kay Hazen and Company facilitated the City of Palm Springs City Council priority setting session where sustainability was identified as one of five top priority issues for focused attention and action by the city. The firm was subsequently asked to help the City develop and launch the sustainability effort.
Kay Hazen and Company researched and developed short term steps the city could take and presented recommendations. The City Council unanimously approved a set of twenty first steps to make Palm Springs a sustainable city. The firm also developed and implemented the Mayor’s Leadership Council through which 25 local public and private organizational and business organizations passed resolutions and agreed to take five specific actions in support of the path to sustainability.
