SALTON SEA AUTHORITY – Issues Advocacy & Local Outreach
The Salton Sea Authority, a joint powers authority representing two counties, two water districts and a tribal government, chose Kay Hazen and Company as the local firm to work in collaboration with a public relations firm outside the Coachella Valley to provide strategic counsel and help develop education and outreach strategies in support of restoration plans and projects for California’s Everglades.
In order to demonstrate unified support for the local restoration plan, the firm developed several special collateral pieces including a four color poster featuring 5000 restoration support signatures that was mailed to every state legislator. The firm also drafted, assembled and packaged 49 resolutions of support passed by local jurisdictions and agencies into book form for hand delivery to state decision makers during deliberations on the future of the Sea.
